Annual Membership Dues
Full Membership
$295
per year (July to June)
Payable quarterly ($74) or annually. Your club dues go toward Rotary International per capita fees, District 9660 levies, and club operations.
Beyond Dues: Optional Contributions
Membership dues cover the cost of being a Rotarian. Service projects and community impact require additional resources. Our club has a culture of voluntary giving that amplifies our impact.
The $5 Tradition
Many members voluntarily contribute $5 per week beyond their dues. This tradition, established early in our club’s history, funds youth program sponsorships, international projects, and community initiatives.
This is entirely optional. Some members contribute more, some less, some not at all. The important thing is that every member contributes service, time, and expertise according to their capacity.
Rotary Foundation
Direct tax-deductible donations to The Rotary Foundation fund global grants, scholarships, and polio eradication. Every member is encouraged to support the Foundation at whatever level works for them.
Project-Specific Giving
When we undertake specific projects (youth sponsorships, international initiatives), members often contribute additional amounts directly to those projects. This is always voluntary and project-specific.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get financial hardship consideration?
Yes. We never want finances to be a barrier to membership. Speak confidentially with the Club President or Treasurer about your situation. Arrangements can be made.
What if I join partway through the year?
Dues are prorated based on when you join. You only pay for the remaining months of the Rotary year (July to June).
Are dues tax-deductible?
Rotary club dues are generally not tax-deductible in Australia. However, donations to The Rotary Foundation and certain approved projects through RAWCS are tax-deductible.
Do I have to contribute beyond my dues?
No. Dues cover your membership. Additional contributions to projects, The Rotary Foundation, or club initiatives are voluntary and based on your capacity and interest. Service, time, and expertise are equally valuable contributions.
What happens if I need to take a leave of absence?
Rotary allows for leave of absence in cases of extended travel, health issues, or other circumstances. Speak with the club leadership about your situation. Arrangements can be made to suspend dues during your absence while maintaining your membership.
